The impact of Kam Chancellor on the Seahawks defense cannot be understated.

Though just a small sample size in 2015, the team ranks 21st in passing yards allowed per game, 17th in total yards per game and tied for 29th in scoring defense.

They've also allowed pass plays of 20+ yards 11 times already, second-most in the league. In all of 2014, they conceded just 32 -- best in the NFL.

This is a defensive unit that has ranked No. 1 in scoring defense three straight seasons with Chancellor anchoring the secondary.

No longer do the Seahawks have to rely on Dion Bailey or DeShawn Shead to play bigger roles.

Just having Chancellor on the field changes everything, particularly for opposing quarterbacks and his presence alone is enough for signal callers to think twice about testing "The Legion of Boom."
