Two days ago, Michigan State lost its first game of the season, falling to Iowa, 83-70, on the road in the Big Ten opener.

Tom Izzo and his Spartans hope that's the only loss their part of on this trip, as the men's basketball team decided to travel to Dallas to watch the Michigan State football team take on Alabama in the College Football Playoff.

The winner faces the winner of Clemson-Oklahoma in the national championship game on Jan. 11 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
