Eintracht cruises past Bremen

Frankfurt, Germany (SportsNetwork.com) - Eintracht Frankfurt produced five goals at the Commerzbank Arena on Sunday to cruise past Werder Bremen in a 5-2 victory.

The match was level at the intermission after Alexander Meier and Theodor Gebre Selassie had exchanged first-half goals, but Eintracht pulled away in the second period.

Haris Seferovic handed the hosts the lead in the 52nd minute before Meier grabbed his second of the match in the 68th minute.

Stefan Aigner struck in the 76th minute while Luca Caldirola pulled one back for Bremen three minutes later, but Marc Stendera erased any hope of a comeback by immediately restoring Eintracht's three-goal advantage.

The result sees Eintracht improve to 21 points for the season, seven points better than Werder Bremen.

Also on Sunday, Hamburg earned a 2-1 home win over Mainz thanks to a first- half goal from Cleber and a second-half penalty from Rafael van der Vaart.
