Eaton sets WR in decathlon at U.S. trials

Ashton Eaton set a world record in the decathlon Saturday night at the U.S. Olympic trials.

Eaton off finished the record with a win in the men's 1,500-meter run, gaining 9,039 points over the two-day event to break Czech Roman Sebrle's 2001 record of 9,026.

It smashed the previous American record of 8,891 points held by Dan O'Brien since 1992.
