Eastern Washington to play 1st game of basketball season at 8 a.m.

Published February 05, 2015

Associated Press

Eastern Washington has decided to play its first game of the season early, real early.

The Eagles will host Texas Southern on Nov. 14, and tip-off is at 8 a.m.

Coach Jim Hayford says his team is eager to start the season, so they decided not to wait until evening to play the game.

The game was originally scheduled for 6 p.m., and Texas Southern agreed to the switch.

The move allows Eastern Washington to host the first NCAA Division I game of the season, and to have the game regionally broadcast.
