Eastern Michigan comes from behind to defeat Western Michigan, 35-32 in OT

Ryan Brumfield rushed for a 4-yard touchdown to give Eastern Michigan a come-from-behind 35-32 overtime victory over Western Michigan Saturday.

Eastern Michigan (2-8, 1-5 Mid-American) won its first game under interim head coach Stan Parrish. EMU fired head coach Ron English on Friday for "inappropriate language" that included a homophobic slur during a film session with players. English was 11-46 in over five seasons at EMU.

EMU answered Andrew Haldeman's 36-yard field goal in OT by giving the ball to Brumfield twice before the winning score.

Down 29-21 late in the fourth quarter, Brogan Roback threw a 10-yard touchdown to Dustin Creel. The Eagles added a two-point conversion that tied the game with 51 seconds remaining.

Zach Terrel was 24 of 39 for 348 yards to lead Western Michigan (1-9, 1-5). His 70-yard TD pass to Corey Davis gave the Broncos a 23-21 lead in the third quarter.
