Earthquakes sign Zayner

The San Jose Earthquakes signed defender Jed Zayner on Wednesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed per league and team policy.

Zayner has appeared in 49 MLS games for the Columbus Crew and D.C. United after being drafted 13th overall by the Crew in the 2006 MLS SuperDraft.

He spent 2006-10 in Columbus before being traded to United in August 2010, where he started 13 games in the nation's capital.

Zayner had a trial with the Earthquakes during the 2012 preseason but has now been added to the side.
