Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles left Sunday's 31-21 victory against the Houston Texans following the end of the first quarter with an apparent shoulder injury and did not return.

Foles was sacked on the final play of the opening quarter by Whitney Mercilus and fell hard on his left shoulder. He departed under his own power and was taken to the locker room for x-rays and further evaluation.

Foles completed 10-of-13 attempts for 124 yards, one touchdown and an interception.

Mark Sanchez took over under center for the Birds' first series of the second quarter, finishing the game 15-of-22 with two TDs and a pair of picks in his first action since 2012.

Following the game, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Foles has a suspected broken collarbone and will be out for a while. Sanchez is expected to be the starter for the time being if that is the case.
