Eagles give LB Kendricks a four-year, $29M extension

The Philadelphia Eagles signed linebacker Mychal Kendricks to a four-year contract extension, the team announced on Monday. FOX NFL Sunday's Jay Glazer first reported the deal.

The deal is worth $29 million with $16.4 million in guarantees, a source told FOX Sports 1's NFL insider Mike Garafolo.

Kendricks, a second-round draft pick in 2012, became a starter his rookie seasona nd developed into one of Philly's best defenders.

Kendricks, 24, has played in 42 games with 40 starts over his three seasons in Philadelphia, recording 333 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, nine sacks, three interceptions, four forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries.

After missing four games last season, the California product finished second on the team with 108 tackles, including a team-high 16 vs. Seattle.
