Maine's Troy Barnies, who finished with 18 points and 15 rebounds, forced overtime with his layup with 32 seconds left in regulation.

Hayes hit a 3-pointer and later knocked down a jumper to give Stony Brook a 64-61 lead midway through OT. The Seawolves pushed their margin to five points on Dave Coley's two free throws.

The Black Bears cut the score to 66-65 on two free throws by Gerald McLemore, who led Maine with 23 points. But Dougher scored on a jumper and Hayes made a free throw, as Stony Brook gave Maine (14-11, 8-5) its fourth straight loss.
