Dottie Pepper returns to golf broadcasting for ESPN on limited basis

Published January 13, 2015

Associated Press

Dottie Pepper is returning to golf broadcasting with ESPN in what she calls a perfect fit.

Pepper retired from NBC Sports in December after eight years because she was weary of the travel and wanted to devote her time to promoting junior golf. She tells The Associated Press her deal with ESPN gives her a limited golf schedule and still allows her to work on junior golf as a PGA of America board member.

Pepper will start work at Merion next month at the U.S. Open. ESPN televises the weekday rounds. She also plans to work the U.S. Senior Open, U.S. Women's Open, British Open, British Women's Open and Senior British Open. And next year, she'll add the Masters and Ryder Cup.

An announcement from ESPN is expected later today.
