Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin announced Wednesday that guard Eric Steinbach will be announcing his retirement.

Signed by the Dolphins on July 26, Steinbach missed all of the 2011 season after undergoing back surgery.

Steinbach played the first four years of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals before signing a seven-year, $49.5 million deal with the Cleveland Browns in 2007. The 32-year-old was released by Cleveland last March.

The Iowa product had started 124 of 125 career games prior to last season.
