Dolphins reinstate Jordan from suspension

Davie, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Miami Dolphins have reinstated 2013 first- round pick Dion Jordan to the active roster after the defensive end completed a six-game season-opening suspension for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Jordan, the third overall selection of last year's draft, will be eligible to play in Sunday's game at Jacksonville. Wide receiver Damian Williams was waived to create a roster spot.

The NFL had initially suspended Jordan for the first four games of 2014 after he tested positive for a banned performance-enhancing substance during the offseason. That penalty was later rescinded when the league and the Players Association reached an agreement on a new drug policy, but superseded by the eventual substance abuse infraction.

Jordan played in all 16 games for Miami as a rookie, recording 26 tackles and two sacks.
