The Los Angeles Dodgers will have at least another season with one of their top-performing relievers.

According to multiple outlets, left-handed reliever J.P. Howell has exercised his $6.25-million option for 2016.

Howell, who was drafted in the first round in 2004 by the 2015 World Series champion Kansas City Royals, has been one of the Dodgers' most consistent relievers in the regular season in the past three years.

Upon joining the Dodgers in 2013 after being acquired as a free agent, Howell posted a 4-1 record with a 2.03 ERA in 62 innings of relief. This past season was the 32-year-old lefty's career best, as he achieved a 6-1 record while holding a 1.43 ERA over 44 innings.
