New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Former champion Novak Djokovic has been installed as the top seed, while five-time winner Roger Federer is seeded second at the U.S. Open, which will commence Monday in New York.

The world No. 1 Djokovic is the reigning Wimbledon champ who captured his lone U.S. Open title in 2011. He was last year's runner-up to Rafael Nadal and also posted runner-up finishes in New York in 2007, 2010 and 2012.

Djokovic has appeared in the last four U.S. Open finals.

The 27-year-old Djokovic is followed by last month's Wimbledon runner-up Federer, Australian Open winner Stan Wawrinka, last week's Cincinnati Masters runner-up David Ferrer and Canadian Milos Raonic.

The 33-year-old Federer is seeded at the U.S. Open for the 14th consecutive year, which ties him with Ivan Lendl for the second-longest streak. Jimmy Connors holds the record with 18.

Seeds 6-through-10 are former Wimbledon runner-up Tomas Berdych, Grigor Dimitrov, 2012 U.S. Open champion and 2008 runner-up Andy Murray, former Australian Open runner-up Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Kei Nishikori.

The 2013 champion and two-time titlist Nadal pulled out of the Open on Monday due to a right wrist injury.
