A trio of World Series champions from the Chicago Cubs -- Ben Zobrist, Dexter Fowler and Anthony Rizzo -- visited "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" on Monday. The did the typical late night show stuff -- talked about how it felt to win a championship, described the feeling at the parade, yada yada yada.

Honestly, it wasn't very riveting stuff.

But wait! Then Fallon brought up the rumors of Steve Bartman, noted foul-ball interferer, throwing out the first pitch during the season-opener next year.

"We haven't heard that yet, but that'd be amazing," Rizzo said. "He's a big part of Cubs history, no matter what."

Fowler also agreed that it would be a good idea, and then he cracked a very good joke.

"It would only be right, though, if Moises Alou were to catch the ball."

Not bad, bad. That's an idea so crazy that it just might work.

In all seriousness, though, it seems unlikely that Bartman would want to put himself out there to throw a first pitch, even after the Cubs snapped their long World Series drought. All the guy has ever done since the infamous foul ball incident is ask for his privacy, so I can't see him changing his tune just for a moment of redemption or forgiveness that he's never really wanted or needed.

But, hey, then again, the Cubs have all offseason to convince him, so you never know.
