Devils bring back Bernier, Gionta

Newark, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - The New Jersey Devils on Wednesday announced the signings of forwards Steve Bernier and Stephen Gionta.

No contract terms were released for either player.

Bernier totaled three goals and nine assists in 78 games for the Devils last season, his second full campaign with the franchise. The 29-year-old Quebec native has logged 542 games of NHL experience and compiled 88 goals and 104 assists for San Jose, Buffalo, Vancouver, Florida and the Devils since 2005.

Gionta picked up four goals and seven assists over 66 appearances with the only NHL club for which he's skated. The 30-year-old Boston College product has played in 127 games for New Jersey and totaled nine goals with 17 assists.
