New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Major League Baseball announced on Friday disciplinary actions stemming from incidents which led to both benches clearing during Thursday night's game between the Milwaukee Brewers and Miami Marlins.

Marlins pitcher Anthony DeSclafani has been suspended for three games and received an undisclosed fine for throwing at Brewers outfielder Carlos Gomez, with warnings in place, during the sixth inning of an eventual 4-2 Milwaukee victory.

The 24-year-old right-hander has decided to appeal the decision, as his suspension was set to begin during Friday night's series opener against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Brewers pitcher Mike Fiers, who had earlier uncorked a pitch that hit Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton square in the face, was fined an undisclosed amount for throwing at pinch-hitter Reed Johnson.
