Deontae Howard rushed for a career-high 100 yards and scored the game-winning touchdown in the second overtime to lead Robert Morris over Virginia Military Institute 37-31 on Saturday.
Paul Jones set the pace for Robert Morris (2-2) with 321 passing yards, the most by a Colonial since 2005. Donte Jeter was his favorite target with eight catches for 112 yards.
The victory was Colonials' first ever over VMI (1-4) and came in Joe Walton's 200th career game as head coach at Robert Morris.
Robert Morris led 31-24 late in the fourth quarter, but Eric Kordenbrock's 39-yard touchdown pass to Matthew Nicholson tied the game with one second left in regulation.
Kordenbrock had his third straight 300 yard-passing game, broke his own single-game VMI record with 34 completions and became the all-time leader in career passing yards for the Keydets on a 36-yard touchdown pass early in the third quarter.
