DeAndre Hopkins has not reported to Texans' training camp because he is upset with his contract, ESPN reported Saturday. The holdout is underway.

Hopkins, 24, led Houston with 111 receptions, 1,521 receiving yards and 11 TD receptions last season, resulting in a trip to the Pro Bowl. And he did that despite the Texans starting five different quarterbacks last season. Hopkins' impressive 2015 season came on the heels of a 76-catch, 1,210-yard, six-TD season in 2014.

Hopkins, the 27th overall pick in the 2013 draft, is set to earn a base salary of $1 million this season and that will jump to nearly $8 million next season. But he obviously wants more security (and salary).

An extended absence could prove costly for the Texans because new starting QB Brock Osweiler needs time to build a rapport with his receivers.

With Hopkins holding out and defensive end J.J. Watt sidelined after back surgery, the Texans are without arguably their two best players early in camp.
