Dallas Keuchel throws 2 scoreless innings, Marc Krauss homers to lead Astros past Marlins 4-0

Published January 08, 2015

Associated Press

Dallas Keuchel needed only 17 pitches in two scoreless innings Monday to help the Houston Astros beat the Miami Marlins 4-0.

All but three of the left-hander's pitches were strikes. He allowed one baserunner, on a single, before his final pitch induced a double play.

Miami starter Jacob Turner went two innings and gave up one run, on Marc Krauss' homer. Krauss went 2 for 4 and is 5 for 9 in spring training.

J.D. Martinez doubled home a run in the seventh. Houston's Marwin Gonzalez went 2 for 2 off the bench.

Chia-Jen Lo, Houston's eighth pitcher, threw a scoreless ninth to complete a four-hitter. Houston improved to 3-1 after losing a franchise record 111 games last season.
