Crawford's 2 free throws with 20 seconds left seals UMass Lowell's 63-61 win over NJIT

Lance Crawford made two free throws with 20 seconds left to secure UMass Lowell's 63-61 win over New Jersey Institute of Technology 63-61 on Saturday.

NJIT's Odera Nweke hit two free throws with 38 second left to pull within 59-58. Lowell's Chad Holley made the first of two free throws with 29 seconds to play and Kerry Weldon's steal set up Crawford's makes.

Marco Banegas-Flores led UMass Lowell (2-2) with 15 points, Crawford finished with 14 and Tyler Livingston added 10. The River Hawks were held to just 38.2 percent shooting, compared to 45.5 for NJIT, but their defense forced 22 turnovers.

NJIT (1-3) was paced by Damon Lynn with 20 points, including five 3-pointers. Ky Howard added 12 points and 12 rebounds, and Osa Izevbuwa had 10 points. The Highlanders were 20 of 44 from the field, including 9 of 21 (42.9 percent) from behind the arc.
