Crabbe paces Cal over UC Irvine

Allen Crabbe scored 24 points and Jorge ranked 56 win over the UC Irvine Anteaters.

Harper Kamp chipped in 10 points and eight boards for the Golden Bears (1-0), who return four starters from a team that made an NIT appearance and went 18-15 a year ago.

Chris McNealy led all UC Irvine (0-1) scorers with 14.

Russell Turner, who is a disciple of Stanford head coach Mike Montgomery serving under Montgomery at Stanford and the NBA's Golden State Warriors, guided the Anteaters to a 13-19 mark in his first year as head coach last season.
