GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Phoenix Coyotes were at less than full strength for Thursday's showdown with the Calgary Flames on Thursday night.

Two of the Coyotes' regular forwards, Martin Hanzal and Ray Whitney, are missing their second straight games due to lower-body injuries. Defenseman Rostislav Klesla also sat out -- he was hit in the face with the puck when a shot by Vancouver's Daniel Sedin rolled up his stick in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Canucks.

The Coyotes are also without defenseman Ed Jovanovski, who's been sidelined with a facial injury that required surgery, but did get another blueliner, Derek Morris, back after he sat out Tuesday with a lower-body injury.
