Coyotes acquire Cheverie from Florida

The Phoenix Coyotes acquired goaltender Marc Cheverie from the Florida Panthers in exchange for center Justin Bernhardt Thursday.

Cheverie split time last year with the Cincinnati Cyclones of the East Coast Hockey League and the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.

A seventh-round pick by the Panthers in the 2006 entry draft, Cheverie posted a 13-9-5 record with three shutouts and a 3.11 goals against average in 30 games with Cincinnati, and a 2-7-1 record with a 3.91 goals against average in 15 games with Rochester.

Bernhardt played in 47 games for the Los Angeles Wranglers of the ECHL last season, recording six goals and 25 points.
