Colts' most important preseason feat may be getting healthy in time for regular season

Published January 13, 2015

Associated Press

Colts tight end Coby Fleener and rookie offensive lineman Khaled Holmes returned to the practice field Monday.

It's more good news for a team that was hit hard by injuries at the start of training camp.

Now, though, the Colts' injury list is shrinking.

Tight end Dwayne Allen returned to practice last week. Left tackle Anthony Castonzo and right guard Mike McGlynn hope to be ready for the season opener. Linebackers Pat Angerer and Jerrell Freeman and safety LaRon Landry all made their preseason debuts Saturday. And rookie offensive lineman Hugh Thornton got back to work last week, too.

The healthy trend couldn't come at a better time with the season opener less than two weeks away.
