Kansas City, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles suffered a high ankle sprain in Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Denver Broncos.
Charles, who ran for 1,287 yards a season ago, hobbled to the bench early in the first quarter after being stuffed on a run up the middle and did not return.
"It doesn't look to be a real severe one," said Chiefs coach Andy Reid during his Monday press conference when announcing the injury. "We'll see what happens."
Chiefs safety Eric Berry also left Sunday's game with what Reid called an ankle sprain on Monday. Berry suffered the injury late in the second quarter and did not return.
It's not clear if the two will miss Week 3's game at Miami.
