Denver, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles and safety Eric Berry left Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos with ankle injuries and neither will return.

Charles, who ran for 1,287 yards a season ago, hobbled to the bench early in the first quarter after being stuffed on a run up the middle. Knile Davis replaced Charles in the backfield.

Berry, meanwhile, was being looked at by the medical staff on the Kansas City sideline late in the second quarter before heading back to the locker room.

The Chiefs are already without Pro Bowl linebacker Derrick Johnson and defensive tackle Mike DeVito, who both ruptured their Achilles tendons last Sunday and are out for the season.
