Chicago's Peavy shuts out A's

Jake Peavy pitched his first shutout of the season and sixth of his career as Chicago took down Oakland, 4-0, in the opener of a three-game set.

Peavy (3-0) gave up three hits and two walks with five strikeouts in his 10th career complete game as the White Sox won their fourth straight. Adam Dunn and Paul Konerko each hit a solo home run while Alex Rios went 3-for-5.

Bartolo Colon (3-2) was touched for two runs on seven hits with three walks and two strikeouts over seven innings for the Athletics, who have dropped three of four. Yoenis Cespedes hit a double in the loss.
