Chelsea's Romeu expected to miss six months

Chelsea's Oriol Romeu is expected to miss six months of action after the midfielder underwent surgery on Monday, the Premier League club announced.

Romeu had anterior cruciate reconstruction surgery and medial meniscus repair after suffering a knee injury in the first half of the club's win at Sunderland on Saturday.

The 21-year-old has made nine appearances for Chelsea in all competitions this season.
