Time trial champion Sylvain Chavanel heads the French cycling team for the London Olympics men's road events.

Chavanel, who sits third in the Tour de France overall standings, will also take part in the Olympic time trial.

The French cycling federation said in a statement that Chavanel will team with Tony Gallopin and Arnaud Demare while track specialist Mickael Bourgain was included in the team in order to be allowed to compete in the keirin.

According to the UCI rules, all athletes bidding to race in the keirin at the Olympics should also have been confirmed in another track event.

Thomas Voeckler and Arthur Vichot completed the list as replacements.
