Omar Wattad and Chris Early each scored 17 points and Chattanooga remained perfect in Southern Conference play with a 65-60 victory over Samford on Saturday night.

The Mocs (10-8, 6-0) won their third straight, despite shooting only 32.8 percent from the field (20 of 61). The conference's top rebounding team, Chattanooga capitalized on a slight advantage on the boards (39-34) and by forcing five more turnovers than it committed (15-10). That allowed the Mocs to take 12 more field-goal attempts than the Bulldogs, compensating for their inaccuracies.

Ricky Taylor added 16 points and 11 rebounds for Chattanooga, which is 10-0 when holding its opponents under 70 points.

Josh Bedwell led Samford (10-7, 2-3) with 21 points, while Jeffrey Merritt had 10 points and 10 rebounds and Josh Davis had 10 points and eight rebounds.
