Zdeno Chara broke his own record in the hardest shot challenge at the NHL SuperSkills competition.

Coming into the event with a record 105.4 mph blast in 2011, his first shot was a blistering 108.8 to shatter the record.

In the final round, his shot went down to 107.0, but it was still enough to beat Shea Weber of Nashville, who fired his 106.0 mph.

Weber had a shot of 104.9 in the first round for the fastest shot for Team Alfredsson, but lost both rounds to Chara.

These two were also the finalists in the 2011 competition.

In the rookie shot, Luke Adam of Buffalo beat out Justin Faulk from Carolina 98.3 mph to 95.9 to win a point for Team Chara.

Alfredsson grabbed a point for his team with a shot of 101.3 to beat out Washington's Dennis Wideman's 95.3 blast.

In the third round, Jason Spezza of Ottawa got another point for Team Alfredsson with a shot of 100.5 mph to defeat Dion Phaneuf of Toronto (97.9).

After five rounds, Team Alfredsson leads 11-9.
