Celtics PG Rajon Rondo is in starting lineup for opener against Brooklyn Nets

Published February 05, 2015

Associated Press

Rajon Rondo is in the starting lineup for the Boston Celtics' opener against the Brooklyn Nets.

Coach Brad Stevens said before Wednesday night's game that his All-Star point guard is ready to return from the broken hand that cost him most of training camp.

Rondo was expected to miss six to eight weeks, but in updates this week he hinted that he might be able to come back early. It's been five weeks since he broke his left hand when he slipped in the shower.

Stevens said Rondo will wear something to protect the hand during the game. But Rondo won't have any limits on how many minutes he plays.
