Carter returns after missing 10 months with a torn quadriceps

Published November 20, 2014

Associated Press

The Oakland Raiders have activated defensive end Andre Carter and moved defensive end behind Lamarr Houston on the depth chart.

Carter, who had 10 sacks last year with New England before suffering a torn quadriceps, is making his Raiders debut after being out the last 10 months.

Carter takes the spot of former second-string defensive end Jack Crawford, who is inactive. Carter has 76 sacks in 12 seasons.

Michael Huff starts at cornerback again with Shawntae Spencer recovering from a foot injury. Matt Giordano takes Huff's regular spot at free safety.

Willie Smith starts at right guard for Khalif Barnes, who is out with a groin injury.

The Atlanta Falcons report no lineup changes.
