Cards' Stanton doubtful, Mathieu probable for Sunday

Tempe, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Arizona Cardinals quarterback Drew Stanton is doubtful, while safety Tyrann Mathieu is probable to play in Sunday night's NFC West showdown against the Seattle Seahawks.

Stanton partially tore ligaments in his knee during last Thursday's 12-6 win over the St. Louis Rams. He practiced for the first time since the injury Thursday on a limited basis, but did not go during Friday's session.

Stanton was starting in place of the injured Carson Palmer, who is out for the season with a torn knee ligament suffered in early November. Ryan Lindley took over for Stanton against the Rams.

Lindley and Logan Thomas are currently the remaining healthy quarterbacks on the Cardinals' roster.

Mathieu has missed the last two games with a broken left thumb. He was limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday, but was a full participant Friday. He will wear a cast if he can go, which is likely.

The Cardinals can clinch the NFC West and homefield advantage throughout the NFC playoffs with a win Sunday night.

The Cardinals currently lead the NFC West by one game.
