Cards move on to Sweet 16 after win over Bulls

Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Jude Schimmel scored 13 points, grabbed six rebounds and handed out five assists as her third-seeded Louisville Cardinals outlasted the sixth-seeded South Florida Bulls, 60-52, in the second round of the NCAA Women's Tournament at the Sun Dome.

Myisha Hines-Allen added in 12 points with five rebounds for Louisville (27-6), while Mariya Moore contributed 11 points. Shawnta' Dyer came off the bench to chip in 10 points in the victory.

Louisville advances to the Sweet 16, and will meet seventh-seeded Dayton on Saturday with a shot at reaching to regional finals on the line.

Courtney Williams led all scorers in the contest, tallying 25 points with seven rebounds to pace South Florida (27-8). Laura Ferreira added nine points, and Alisia Jenkins tied Williams with seven boards in the defeat.

The Cardinals outscored USF in the paint, 22-16, and were able to pick up the win despite shooting just 33.3 percent from the floor in the contest. Louisville held a commanding lead on the glass over the Bulls, 45-32.
