Cardinals put Siegrist on DL with mononucleosis

ST. LOUIS (AP) The St. Louis Cardinals have placed reliever Kevin Siegrist on the 15-day disabled list with mononucleosis.

The move is retroactive to June 30 and was announced Friday.

Right-hander Sam Tuivailala has been recalled from Triple-A Memphis. Tuivailala was 2-1 with a 5.06 ERA at Memphis and converted 13 of 16 save opportunities.

The left-handed Siegrist was 5-2 with a 2.78 ERA in 35 appearances.
