Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Michael Floyd has undergone surgery after injuring his fingers during practice.

Floyd was hurt Wednesday and says in a tweet the operation "went well as expected." He thanked supporters for their love.

He also sent a photo on Instagram of him in a hospital bed with his left hand and forearm bandaged. Floyd was smiling, with a stuffed bear on his shoulder.

The Cardinals have said only that he injured his left hand and it's not known whether Floyd will return for the Sept. 13 season opener at home against New Orleans.
