St. Louis, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - Kolten Wong's stay in Triple A lasted a little over two weeks, with the St. Louis Cardinals recalling the highly regarded rookie from Memphis of the Pacific Coast League on Wednesday.

Wong, rated as the Cardinals' second-best prospect by MLB.com prior to the season, began the year as St. Louis' regular second baseman but hit just .225 with five RBI through 20 games, which triggered a demotion to Triple A on April 27.

The 2011 first-round pick earned a promotion back to the majors by hitting .344 with two home runs, 10 RBI and five stolen bases over 15 games with the Redbirds.

Infielder Greg Garcia, who had the game-winning RBI when being hit by a pitch in the 12th inning of Tuesday's 4-3 victory over the Chicago Cubs, was optioned to Memphis in a corresponding move.
