Milwaukee, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - The St. Louis Cardinals activated pitcher Michael Wacha from the 60-day disabled list to start Thursday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Wacha missed 68 games while on the DL since June 18th with a right shoulder stress reaction. The right-hander was 5-5 with a 2.79 ERA in 15 starts this season before the injury.

The Cardinals also purchased the contract of first baseman Xavier Scruggs from Triple-A Memphis and transferred outfielder Shane Robinson to the 60-day disabled list.

Scruggs, who will be making his MLB debut when he next takes the field, spent the entire 2014 season with Memphis, where he hit .286 with 29 doubles, 21 homers and 87 RBI in 135 games.

Robinson was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a shoulder injury on August 26.
