Cardinals activate RHP Maness from disabled list

ST. LOUIS (AP) The Cardinals activated right-hander Seth Maness from the 15-day disabled list on Sunday and optioned left-hander Dean Kiekhefer to Triple-A Memphis.

Maness, 27, went on the disabled list May 13 due to right elbow inflammation after going 0-1 with a 6.39 ERA in 12 2/3 innings spanning 13 appearances.

He was a combined 0-0 with a 1.80 ERA in five games in five innings with Memphis and Double-A Springfield during his injury rehabilitation assignment. He pitched a scoreless inning Thursday at Nashville in his most recent appearance.

Kiekhefer, a rookie, was 0-0 with a 5.73 ERA in 11 appearances with St. Louis.
