NEW YORK (AP) Chris Capuano is back with the New York Yankees for his fifth stint this season.

The 37-year-old left-hander is 0-4 with a 7.71 ERA in four starts and 14 relief appearances was added to the 40-man roster before Monday's game against Baltimore.

Capuano started the season on the disabled list after straining a quadriceps while covering first base during a spring training game on March 11. He made three injury rehabilitation starts in the minors, then was activated May 17.

Capuano was designated for assignment on July 29 after going 0-4 with a 6.97 ERA in four starts and 12 relief appearances. He made two appearances with Scranton, then was brought back Aug. 12 and designated three days later without pitching for the Yankees.

New York brought him back Aug. 18, and Capuano pitched two innings against Cleveland two days later. He was designated again Aug. 22, refused an outright assignment two days after that, elected free agency and immediately re-signed. After pitching two innings against Cleveland on Aug. 25, he was designated again and pitched for Scranton on Aug. 30 and Sept. 4.

To clear a roster spot, the Yankees activated left-hander Jacob Lindgren from the 7-day minor league disabled list, recalled him and placed him on the 60-day disabled list.
