Rafael Cabrera-Bello emerged from a turvy third round to shoot an eight-under 64 Saturday and take a one- shot lead into the final round of the Portugal Masters.
Cabrera-Bello had two eagles, five birdies and a bogey at Oceanico Victoria Golf Course to move to 18-under 198 and take the first 54-hole lead of his European Tour career. He's won only one time before, at the 2009 Austrian Golf Open.
Saturday's play featured several different leaders, and Sunday figures to be more of the same, with seven players within three shots of the lead. A pair of one-time winners, Christian Nilsson (66) and Felipe Aguilar (67), share second at 17-under 199. Aguilar had a chance to share the lead with Cabrera-Bello, but bogeyed the 17th to lose a stroke.
Peter Hanson (64) and three-time winner this year Thomas Bjorn (66) are knotted in fourth at 16-under, while Lorenzo Gagli (66) and Keith Horne (67) share sixth at minus-15.
Overnight leader Simon Khan never got going and posted a one-under 71 to fall to a share of eighth with Hennie Otto (63), Tom Lewis (68) and James Kingston (70) at 14-under.
