BYU is looking into allegations that football players received improper benefits.

Associate athletic director Duff Tittle told The Associated Press that the university is conducting a "thorough review of the matter." Duff had no further comment.

The allegations were first reported by 1280 AM sports radio in Salt Lake City. The allegations were first leveled several months ago and involve current and former players, according to reports.

It was not clear if the NCAA also was looking into the matter. The organization does not comment on its investigations.
