Butler to open at South Dakota State

Butler University's football program has added an Aug. 31 game at South Dakota State to open its 2013 season.

The Bulldogs will play 12 games, including six at the Butler Bowl against Wittenberg (Sept. 7) and Dartmouth (Sept. 21) in non-league action, and Stetson (Oct. 5), Campbell (Oct. 12), Drake (Oct. 19) and Valaparaiso (Nov. 9) in Pioneer Football League games.

Butler was part of a three-way tie for first place in the PFL last season, Coach Jeff Voris' squad compiled an 8-3 record, including 7-1 within the league.
