Busch nips Logano for record 50th Nationwide win

Kyle Busch became the first driver to win 50 races in the Nationwide Series after beating his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate, Joey Logano, by inches at the finish line in Friday night's Food City 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Busch, the pole sitter, took the lead from Logano just after a late-race restart. Logano chased down Busch within the final 10 laps but came up 0.019 seconds short, making it the closest finish in a Nationwide race at Bristol.

Clint Bowyer finished third, followed by Carl Edwards, who overcame an early- race pit-road speeding penalty. Aric Almirola was the highest finisher among the Nationwide regulars with a fifth-place run.

Busch also became the first driver to win three consecutive Nationwide races at this half-mile, high-banked track. He will start 23rd in Saturday night's 500-lap Sprint Cup Series race here.

His win last month at New Hampshire moved him into a tie with Mark Martin for most career victories in the series with 49.
