The Chicago Bulls waived veteran guard Richard Hamilton on Wednesday.

The 35-year-old appeared in 78 games (73 starts) for the Bulls over the past two seasons and averaged 10.5 points with 2.6 assists.

Hamilton signed with the Bulls as a free agent on December 14, 2011. He spent the majority of his career with the Detroit Pistons after being drafted by Washington as the seventh overall pick in 1999.

The 14-year veteran helped the Pistons make six consecutive trips to the Eastern Conference Finals (2003-2008) and was on the Detroit team that defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2004 NBA Finals. He also appeared in ten playoff games with the Bulls.

Hamilton averaged 17.1 points, 3.4 assists and 3.1 rebounds in 921 career games.
