Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago Bulls have signed guard Mike James to a 10-day contract.

James appeared in seven games with Chicago earlier this year and averaged 0.3 points and 0.9 assists before he was waived on Dec. 16.

The 11-year veteran was brought back to be a short-term backup to point guard D.J. Augustin, as Kirk Hinrich is currently day-to-day with a hamstring injury sustained during Chicago's game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday. The Bulls also traded guard Marquis Teague to Brooklyn on Tuesday.

James has averaged 9.9 points and 3.5 assists over 591 games in his NBA career.
