Grammy Award-winner Bruno Mars will perform at halftime of Super Bowl XLVIII, to be held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ on February 2.

The announcement was made in Times Square when Mars joined the FOX NFL Sunday crew prior to Sunday's first wave of afternoon games.

The 27-year-old Mars is a 14-time Grammy Award nominee. He has sold over 115 million singles worldwide. His eight-piece band, The Hooligans, are currently on a sold-out, 91-city world arena tour.

Mars' current album, Unorthodox Jukebox, and his debut album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, have a combined certification total of 60x platinum worldwide.

More than 110.5 million viewers in the U.S. watched last year's halftime show, which is sponsored by Pepsi. Last year's headline performer was Beyonce Knowles.
